Emperor Claudius expels Jews from Rome around 49 CE — a disruption the book of Acts directly references.
The Roman historian Suetonius records that Claudius expelled the Jews from Rome because of disturbances 'at the instigation of Chrestus' — almost certainly a reference to disputes within the Jewish community over whether Jesus was the Messiah. Acts 18:2 mentions Paul meeting Aquila and Priscilla in Corinth specifically because they had been expelled from Rome under this edict. It's one of the clearest intersections between Roman history and the New Testament narrative.
