fresh.bible is a free Bible paraphrase website. Reading needs no account. Signing in is optional, and an account stores only what the Accounts section below describes. We sell nothing. This policy explains the data collection that occurs when you use our site and our apps.
We use analytics services to understand how visitors use the site and apps so we can improve them:
We also track anonymous interaction events such as chapter reads, reading time, scroll depth, content sharing, and navigation patterns. These events contain no personal information and are used solely to improve the reading experience.
The fresh.bible iPhone app itself sends none of this: it includes no analytics, advertising or crash-reporting service, and it sends no usage or interaction events. The website pages it opens in Safari's in-app browser are covered in the Accounts section below.
Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) to identify unique visitors across sessions. These cookies contain no personal information. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
Signing in is optional; the Accounts section below covers what an account stores. If you subscribe to email updates, we store your email address, the edition and page you signed up from, how you found us (the referring page, the campaign tags in the link you followed, such as its UTM source, medium and campaign, and the AI tool that referred you, if one did), your browser's user-agent string, and any reading plan enrollments. If you create your account by signing in on the website, we also subscribe its email address to our welcome emails: a welcome message, then four more over the following week. That subscription records the edition, how you signed in and your browser's user-agent string. Creating your account in the fresh.bible iPhone or Android app does not do this. If you follow a reading plan on the website while signed in and stop partway, we may send your account's email address a reminder to pick up where you left off, between 2 and 30 days after the last day you completed. You get at most one reminder per plan, and no more than one in any 7 days. The unsubscribe link in a reminder stops all of them. Reading plans you follow in the apps keep their progress on your phone, so they never trigger a reminder. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, and deleting your account also removes the subscription. We do not share your email address with third parties, other than the providers listed under Third-Party Services that deliver our email and store our data.
You can read everything without an account. If you choose to sign in, you can do it with Google, with Apple, or with an email link on the web and in the iPhone app; the Android app offers Google and the email link. One account covers fresh.bible, nocap.bible and the apps.
An account stores, on our servers, your email address, a user id, the name and profile-picture link your sign-in provider (Google or Apple) shares with us, and the reading data you create while signed in: bookmarks, reading progress and history, reading streaks, reading-plan progress and journal entries, reactions, achievements, interests, and any questions you submit through Ask.
The fresh.bible Android app. Signing in is optional; the app works fully without an account. Your highlights, notes, bookmarks, reading plans and reading history are stored on the device, and the app does not upload them today. Cross-device sync is planned for a later release, and this policy will be updated before that version ships. The app downloads Bible text and articles from our servers so it can work offline, and it streams chapter audio from them, so audio needs a connection. Either way, our servers see the usual request information, including your IP address. If the app crashes or hits an error, a crash report is sent to Sentry, our error-reporting provider; that report contains the error itself plus your device model, operating-system version, app version, a random identifier for the installation, and your user id when you are signed in. It does not contain your email address or anything you have written in the app. We do not show ads, we do not collect location, and we do not sell or share your information.
The fresh.bible iPhone app. Signing in is optional; the app works fully without an account. You can sign in with Apple, with Google or with an email link, and our servers then keep the account details described above: your email address, a user id, and the name and profile-picture link your sign-in provider shares. With Sign in with Apple, the app asks Apple only for your name and email address, and it saves the name to your account if Apple provides one. Your highlights, notes, bookmarks, reading progress and history, reading streaks, reading goal, reading-plan progress and audio playback positions are stored on your iPhone, and the app does not upload them today; signing in keeps them with your account on that iPhone. Cross-device sync is planned for a later release, and this policy will be updated before that version ships. The app downloads Bible text, articles and images from our servers and streams chapter audio from them, which means our servers see the usual request information, including your IP address; those requests do not include your account. The app has no ads, no tracking, and no analytics or crash-reporting service, and it does not collect location. The About, Privacy Policy, Terms and Support links in its Settings open fresh.bible pages in Safari's in-app browser, where the website analytics and cookies described above apply as they do in any browser. Links to Wikipedia on place pages open the same way, under Wikipedia's own privacy policy.
You can have your account deleted at any time. Email us and we remove the account and the data listed above within 30 days. How to delete your account explains the steps, exactly what is deleted, and what is kept. While you are signed in you can also delete the account yourself, right away — with the button on the delete-account page, or in Settings in the Android app or the iPhone app (Settings → ACCOUNT → Delete account). In the iPhone app, if the account uses Sign in with Apple, Apple asks you to confirm first, and the app's Sign in with Apple authorization is revoked before the account is deleted. Deleting in the iPhone app also removes the reading data saved to that account on that iPhone.

This site and our apps are not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child created an account, email us at word@fresh.bible and we will delete it.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
