To warn against false teachers and remind believers that Jesus IS coming back
Second Peter is an urgent warning letter. Peter (or someone writing in his name) knows his death is approaching and has two essential things to say: beware of false teachers who distort the truth for profit, and do not lose simply because Jesus has not returned yet. 'With the Lord a day is like a thousand years.' What appears to be delay is actually patience — and patience is mercy.
Peter had the most extraordinary experience imaginable — hearing God's voice on a mountain — and he says Scripture is even more reliable than that.
2 Peter 1 — Everything You Need Is Already Yours
The most dangerous leaders don't look dangerous — they look helpful, and the giveaway is always greed and control at the root.
2 Peter 2 — The Ones Who Look Like Leaders but Aren't
Every day it feels like God is doing nothing is actually a day he's holding the door open for one more person — the delay isn't indifference, it's the most aggressive form of love.
2 Peter 3 — The Day Everything Resets
