The church's most aggressive persecutor is struck blind on the road to Damascus and becomes its greatest advocate.
Saul is traveling to Damascus with letters authorizing him to arrest followers of Jesus when a blinding light knocks him to the ground. He hears the voice of Jesus asking, 'Why are you persecuting me?' Blinded for three days, Saul is visited by a reluctant believer named Ananias, who restores his sight. Saul — later known as Paul — immediately begins preaching that Jesus is the Son of God, shocking everyone who knows his reputation.
