After Jacob's death, the brothers panic that Joseph will finally take revenge — but he responds with one of the Bible's greatest lines about God's sovereignty.
With their father gone, the brothers are terrified that the only thing holding Joseph back was respect for Jacob. They send a message begging for mercy. Joseph weeps when he hears it and tells them, 'You meant it for evil, but God meant it for good — to save many lives.' He reassures them, provides for them, and lives to 110. Before he dies, he makes them promise to carry his bones back to the Promised Land.
