Josephus publishes his histories in the 70s-90s CE — providing the most detailed non-biblical account of first-century Judaism.
Flavius Josephus, a Jewish priest who switched sides during the revolt, writes two monumental works under Flavian patronage. The Jewish War (c. 75 CE) is his eyewitness account of the revolt and Temple destruction. Jewish Antiquities (c. 93-94 CE) retells all of Jewish history and includes the famous 'Testimonium Flavianum' — a passage mentioning Jesus that scholars debate endlessly but largely agree contains an authentic historical core. Josephus is an imperfect, self-serving writer, but without him we'd have almost no detailed narrative of this period.
