The Flight to Egypt

After the wise men leave, an angel appears to Joseph in a dream with urgent instructions: take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt immediately. Joseph gets up in the middle of the night and leaves. The family stays in Egypt until Herod dies, fulfilling the prophecy 'Out of Egypt I called my son.' It's a harrowing reminder that the Messiah's life was in danger from the very beginning.
