Described in Leviticus 25, the Year of Jubilee was God's radical economic policy: every 50 years, all land returned to its original family, all debts were forgiven, and all Israelite slaves were freed. It prevented permanent poverty and wealth hoarding. Whether Israel ever fully practiced it is debated, but the principle is clear — God cares about economic justice. Jesus read Isaiah 61 in Nazareth and declared He was bringing the ultimate Jubilee (Luke 4:18-19).
