Giddel was the head of a family of Temple servants (Nethinim) whose descendants returned to Jerusalem from Babylonian exile under Zerubbabel. His name appears in the lists of returning exiles in Ezra 2:47 and Nehemiah 7:49, preserving his family's faithful role in Temple service across generations.
