Also spelled Jehosheba (2 Kings 11:2). When Queen Athaliah murdered the royal family to seize the throne, Jehoshabeath rescued her infant nephew Joash and hid him with his nurse in the Temple for six years, preserving the Davidic line. She was married to the high priest Jehoiada.
