Joseph of Arimathea

A rich man and member of the Sanhedrin who was secretly a disciple of Jesus (Matthew 27:57, John 19:38). After the crucifixion, he boldly went to Pilate and asked for Jesus' body — a move that would have cost him his reputation and standing. He wrapped the body in clean linen and placed it in his own new tomb cut from rock. His courage shows up at exactly the moment everyone else had fled.
