King Agrippa II — the last Herodian king, who heard Paul's defense in Acts
Also known as King Agrippa, Herod Agrippa II
Attested by Josephus (Antiquities 20, Jewish War 2) as the last Herodian king; also attested on coins minted during his reign
The great-grandson of Herod the Great. Paul made his famous defense before Agrippa in Acts 25-26, prompting Agrippa's response: 'In a short time would you persuade me to be a Christian?' He was deeply familiar with Jewish customs and Scripture, making him a particularly significant audience for Paul's testimony. Not the same as his father Herod Agrippa (Agrippa I), who killed James and imprisoned Peter.
