The tenth son of Jacob and sixth son of Leah (Genesis 30:19-20). His tribe received territory in the northern part of Canaan near the Sea of Galilee. Isaiah 9:1 mentions 'the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali' in a prophecy that Matthew 4:13-16 applies to Jesus beginning His ministry in Galilee. Zebulun's territory ended up being where Jesus spent most of His public ministry.
