The continent — in modern usage; in NT Greek "Asia" refers specifically to the Roman province in western Asia Minor (modern Turkey)
ContinentWhen chapters reference "Asia" in a modern global sense (continents, populations, world religions), they mean the broad continent. Note that the New Testament's "Asia" (e.g., Acts 19, the seven churches of Revelation) is the much smaller Roman province corresponding to western Turkey — see "Asia Minor."
