A southern Negev town in the catalog of Judahs tribal inheritance
NegevBealoth was a town in the southern Negev district of Judah's tribal inheritance, named in Joshua 15:24 in the long catalog of cities "in the south country, by the coast of Edom": "Ziph, and Telem, and Bealoth." The town appears only in this single boundary list. The same name (or a related site spelled Aloth) appears in 1 Kings 4:16 as part of the territory of Solomon's administrative district under Baana son of Hushai. The exact location is uncertain but lay on the southern desert frontier between settled Judah and the Negev wilderness.
