A Simeonite Negev town listed among the cities of Simeon "until David reigned"
NegevBeth-biri ("house of my creator") was a Simeonite Negev town named in 1 Chronicles 4:31 in the catalog of "their cities unto the reign of David": "And at Beth-marcaboth, and Hazar-susim, and at Beth-birei, and at Shaaraim." The list closes with the quiet note that these were the Simeonite holdings before the tribe was absorbed into the larger southern Judean population during the early monarchy. The exact site is uncertain but lay somewhere in the western Negev between Beersheba and Ziklag.
