A Simeonite Negev town the same as Balah in Joshuas inheritance catalog
NegevBilhah was a Simeonite Negev town named in 1 Chronicles 4:29: "And at Bilhah, and at Ezem, and at Tolad." The parallel list in Joshua 19:3 names the same site as the shorter form "Balah." Bilhah here is the place-name and should not be confused with Bilhah the handmaiden of Rachel who bore Dan and Naphtali — though the place may have been named in memory of the matriarchal ancestress whose sons were among the northern tribes. The site lay in the western Negev between Beersheba and the Philistine coastal plain.
