An Issachar Levitical town on the slopes of Mount Tabor — given to the Gershonite Levites alongside Kishion and En-gannim
IssacharDaberath was a town on the lower slopes of Mount Tabor, on the southern frontier of the territory of Issachar (Joshua 19:12). It was assigned at the Levitical distribution as one of the four Issacharite towns given to the Gershonite Levites alongside Kishion, Jarmuth, and En-gannim (Joshua 21:28, 1 Chronicles 6:72). Daberath sat at a strategic location overlooking the Jezreel Valley and the famous battlefield where Deborah and Barak defeated Sisera at the Kishon — a major arena of Old Testament conflict. Generally identified with the modern village of Daburiyah at the western foot of Mount Tabor.
