A boundary point on the southern frontier of the Promised Land between Kadesh-barnea and the Brook of Egypt
NegevHazar-addar ("village of Addar") was a boundary point on the southern frontier of the Promised Land in the Lord's instructions to Moses: "And your border shall turn from the south to the ascent of Akrabbim, and pass on to Zin: and the going forth thereof shall be from the south to Kadesh-barnea, and shall go on to Hazar-addar, and pass on to Azmon" (Numbers 34:4). The parallel boundary description in Joshua 15:3 names the same site simply as "Addar." The site is generally identified with Ain el-Qudeirat in the wilderness of Zin, in the high Negev between Kadesh-barnea and the Brook of Egypt.
