The shoreline campsite between Migdol and the Red Sea where Israel was hemmed in before the great crossing
EgyptHistorically Verified
Multiple scholarly identifications proposed along the eastern Egyptian frontier; exact site remains debated among Exodus-route theories
Exodus 14:2-9 names Pi-hahiroth as the place where Israel turned back and camped by the sea, between Migdol and the sea opposite Baal-zephon — exactly where Pharaoh's army would catch them. Pharaoh saw their position as a trap, but it became the stage for the parting of the Red Sea. Numbers 33:7-8 retraces the route as the Exodus itinerary, departing Pi-hahiroth and passing through the sea into the wilderness.
