Because here's what you need to know: even your own brothers — your own family — have turned against you. They're coming after you with everything they have. Don't believe them, even when they speak friendly words to your face."

Many shepherds have destroyed my vineyard. They trampled my portion into the ground. They turned my beautiful, cherished land into an empty wasteland. They made it a desolation — and it cries out to me. The whole land lies in ruin, and nobody stops to care.

Across every hilltop in the wilderness, destroyers have come. The sword of the LORD sweeps from one end of the land to the other. No one has peace. They planted wheat and harvested thorns. They exhausted themselves and gained nothing. Their harvests will bring them shame — because of the fierce anger of the LORD."

But after I have uprooted them, I will have compassion on them again. I will bring each one back — to their own heritage, their own land.

And if they genuinely learn the ways of my people — if they swear by my name, 'As the LORD lives,' the same way they once taught my people to swear by Baal — then they will be built up right in the midst of my people.

But any nation that refuses to listen? I will completely uproot it and destroy it," declares the LORD.
