"This is the oracle of Balaam son of Beor — the man whose eyes are truly open. The one who hears the words of God, who sees the vision of the Almighty, who falls down with eyes uncovered:
How beautiful are your tents, Jacob — your encampments, Israel! They stretch out like palm groves, like gardens along a river, like aloes the Lord himself planted, like cedars beside the waters.
Water will pour from their buckets, and their descendants will flourish among many nations. Their king will rise higher than Agag, and their kingdom will be exalted.
God brought them out of Egypt with the strength of a wild ox. They will devour the nations that oppose them, crush their enemies' bones, and pierce them through with arrows.
They crouch like a lion, they lie down like a lioness — who dares to wake them? Blessed are those who bless you, and cursed are those who curse you."
