Say to God, "Your works are awe-inspiring. Your power is so overwhelming that even your enemies bow before you.

All the earth worships you — they sing praises to you, they sing praises to your name."

There's something striking about a songwriter whose first instinct isn't to keep the song small. He doesn't start with "my praise" or "our praise." He starts with everybody's. As if the only proper response to who God is can't be contained by one person or one nation. It demands the whole earth. Every voice. Not because God needs it — but because anything less wouldn't match the reality of who he is.

Come and see what God has done — he is awesome in what he does for people.

He turned the sea into dry ground. They walked through the river on foot — right there, that's where we celebrated.

He rules by his power forever. His eyes watch over the nations. The rebellious should not lift themselves up.

"Come and see" is such a confident invitation. It's not "take my word for it." It's "look for yourself." The psalmist is pointing back to the crossing — the moment when an entire nation walked through an impossible situation on dry ground — and saying: this isn't a fairy tale. This is a track record. God has been doing impossible things for a long time, and the evidence is there for anyone willing to look.

And then that quiet warning at the end — "the rebellious should not lift themselves up." God watches. He sees. That's comforting if you're the one crying out for help. It's sobering if you're the one causing the problem.

Refined, Not Destroyed 🔥

Here's where the gets heavy. And honest. The psalmist doesn't skip the hard part:

Praise our God, all peoples — let the sound of his praise be heard. He has kept us alive. He has not let our feet slip.

Come and hear, all of you who honor God — let me tell you what he has done for me.

Blessed be God — he did not reject my prayer or pull his faithful love away from me.
