What Happened

After the flood, Noah plants a vineyard, drinks too much wine, and lies uncovered in his tent. Ham sees his father's nakedness and tells his brothers, but Shem and Japheth walk in backward to cover Noah without looking. When Noah wakes up and learns what happened, he curses Ham's son Canaan while blessing Shem and Japheth. This episode foreshadows the later conflicts between Israel and the Canaanites.
