Johns vision of the sixth bowl-judgment names "Armageddon" — the Hebrew Mount of Megiddo — as the gathering place of the kings of the earth for the great battle of God Almighty.
Revelation 16:12-16 describes the sixth bowl-judgment: the river Euphrates is dried up to prepare the way for "the kings of the east," and three unclean spirits like frogs go forth from the mouths of the dragon, the beast, and the false prophet to gather "the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to the battle of that great day of God Almighty." The text concludes: "he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon" (Greek Har Magedōn, Hebrew Har Megiddo — "the mountain of Megiddo"). The chosen site evokes the great battles fought through the Jezreel Valley below Megiddo across Israel's long history.
