The view that the "thousand years" in Revelation 20 is symbolic of the present age between Christ's resurrection and return — not a literal future kingdom
Held by Augustine, most Reformed theologians, and the majority of church history. In this view, Christ reigns now through the church, Satan is currently bound (limited), and the final judgment happens at Christ's return without a separate thousand-year kingdom on earth. The main alternative is premillennialism, which expects a literal future reign.
