A person from Ammon — the neighboring kingdom east of the Jordan descended from Lot
The Ammonites descended from Lot (Abraham's nephew) and occupied territory east of the Jordan. They were persistent enemies of Israel, and their worship of Molech involved child sacrifice. Solomon's Ammonite wives led him into idol worship (1 Kings 11:1-5).
