The Corinth synagogue ruler whose conversion launched Paul's 18-month ministry there
The synagogue ruler in Corinth whose conversion to Christ under Paul's preaching marked a turning point in the Corinthian mission (Acts 18:8). When Paul shifted from synagogue ministry to the house of Titius Justus next door, Crispus came with him along with his entire household. Paul later mentions Crispus as one of the few people he personally baptized at Corinth (1 Corinthians 1:14). His conversion gave the fledgling Corinthian church immediate Jewish leadership credibility.
