Mehetabel was the wife of Hadar, the last king of Edom listed in the ancient genealogies, and daughter of Matred. She is one of the rare women named in Edom's royal lineage, appearing in Genesis 36:39 and 1 Chronicles 1:50. Her inclusion by name in an otherwise male-dominated list marks her as a figure of noted significance within Edomite royal history.
