Simon the Leper

A man in Bethany who hosted a dinner for Jesus at his home (Matthew 26:6, Mark 14:3). During this meal, a woman (identified as Mary in John 12) anointed Jesus with expensive perfume, prompting outrage from some disciples over the 'waste.' Jesus defended her, saying she was preparing His body for burial. Simon was likely healed of his leprosy by Jesus at some point — otherwise he couldn't have hosted guests under Jewish purity laws.
