A wilderness camp at the "wells of the sons of Jaakan" where Aaron died and was buried at nearby Moserah
ArabahBeeroth-bene-jaakan ("the wells of the sons of Jaakan") was a station on Israel's late wilderness itinerary, named in Deuteronomy 10:6: "And the children of Israel took their journey from Beeroth of the children of Jaakan to Mosera: there Aaron died, and there he was buried; and Eleazar his son ministered in the priests office in his stead." The parallel itinerary in Numbers 33:31-32 reads the same sequence with the simpler name "Bene-jaakan." The two passages preserve different traditions about the precise sequence of late-wilderness camps near Edom. The site lay in the highlands south of the Dead Sea, an oasis of multiple wells in the desert.
