A Dead Sea oasis where David spared Saul's life in a cave
JudeaHistorically Verified
The oasis has been dug up, revealing remains from the Iron Age through the Byzantine period. Both Josephus and the Roman writer Pliny described it.
A lush oasis on the western shore of the Dead Sea. David hid from Saul in the caves here and famously cut the corner of Saul's robe instead of killing him (1 Samuel 24). The Song of Solomon references its vineyards (Song of Solomon 1:14).
