A group of Israelite leaders challenge Moses and Aaron's authority, and the earth literally opens up and swallows them.
Korah, along with Dathan, Abiram, and 250 community leaders, accuse Moses and Aaron of putting themselves above everyone else. Moses proposes a test — let God decide who He's chosen. The next day, the ground splits open beneath the rebels and swallows them alive, and fire consumes the 250 men offering unauthorized incense. When the community grumbles about it the next day, a plague breaks out and Aaron has to run into the crowd with incense to stop it.
