Peter heals a man who has been unable to walk since birth, and all of Jerusalem notices.
A man who has been carried to the temple gate every day to beg is told by Peter, 'Silver and gold I don't have, but what I do have I give you.' The man leaps to his feet and starts walking, jumping, and praising God. The crowd is astonished, and Peter uses the moment to preach about Jesus — which gets Peter and John arrested by the temple authorities.
A man who's never taken a single step gets healed at the Temple gate — and instead of building his own platform on the moment, Peter uses the crowd's stunned attention to show them that the Jesus they rejected is the same one who just showed up for them again.
ActsThe Day the Room ShookPeter and John get arrested for healing a man and preaching about Jesus. When they're hauled before the same council that condemned Jesus, Peter delivers a speech that leaves the room speechless. Then the early church responds with a prayer so powerful the building shakes — and a generosity so radical it still challenges us today.
