Ananias and Sapphira

Ananias and his wife Sapphira sell a piece of property and secretly keep back part of the money while claiming to give the full amount. Peter confronts Ananias, who falls down dead. Three hours later, Sapphira tells the same lie and meets the same fate. The incident sends a wave of reverent fear through the entire early church.
