Sending Out the Seventy-Two

Beyond the twelve apostles, Jesus commissions seventy-two disciples and sends them ahead in pairs to every town he plans to visit. They return overjoyed, reporting that even demons submitted to them in Jesus' name. Jesus tells them not to celebrate their power over spirits, but to rejoice that their names are written in heaven.
