Joshua traces the southern frontier of Naphtalis tribal allotment in lower Galilee — from Heleph through Allon Zaanannim Adami-Nekeb Jabneel to Lakkum on the upper Jordan rift just before the river enters the Sea of Galilee.
Joshua 19:33 traces the southern boundary of Naphtali's tribal allotment in lower Galilee: "And their coast was from Heleph, from Allon to Zaanannim, and Adami, Nekeb, and Jabneel, unto Lakum; and the outgoings thereof were at Jordan." The line ran southeast from the Naphtali hills down to the Jordan rift, fixing the frontier just before the river enters the Sea of Galilee. To the south lay the territories of Issachar and Zebulun; to the east the Jordan formed the border with Bashan. The settlements along this boundary commanded the strategic routes between the upper Galilee highlands and the Jordan corridor.
