A corner marker on the northern boundary of Naphtalis tribal inheritance in lower Galilee
GalileeLakkum appears once in Scripture as a boundary point in Joshua's catalog of Naphtali's tribal inheritance: "And their coast was from Heleph, from Allon to Zaanannim, and Adami, Nekeb, and Jabneel, unto Lakum; and the outgoings thereof were at Jordan" (Joshua 19:33). The border ran from Heleph southeast through Adami-nekeb and Jabneel down to the Jordan at Lakkum, fixing the southern frontier of the Naphtali allotment along the upper Jordan rift just before the river enters the Sea of Galilee. The town is generally identified with Khirbet el-Mansurah at the foot of the Naphtali hills.
