An inland boundary town in the tribal inheritance of Asher
GalileeAllammelech ("the king's oak") was an inland boundary town in Asher's tribal inheritance, named in the catalog at Joshua 19:26: "and Allammelech, and Amad, and Mishal." It appears in the long boundary list of Asher's twenty-two cities, between the named fortified settlements of Amad and Mishal, on the western Galilee inland from the coast between the great fortified port of Acco and the inner mountain ridge. Like many of Asher's allotment towns, the exact site is uncertain.
