A Judean hill country town near Hebron mentioned in Joshuas catalog
Judean Hill CountryBeth-tappuah ("house of the apple") was a Judean hill country town named in Joshua 15:53 among the nine cities of the second hill-country district: "Janum, and Beth-tappuah, and Aphekah, And Humtah, and Kiriath-arba (which is Hebron), and Zior." The site is generally identified with the modern village of Taffuh about 8 km west of Hebron, where ancient ruins and a substantial tell preserve continuous occupation through the Iron Age. Not to be confused with Tappuah on the Ephraim-Manasseh border or En-tappuah further north.
