The mountain of curses — where Israel heard what happens when they disobey
SamariaA mountain north of Shechem in central Israel, directly across the valley from Mount Gerizim. Moses commanded that when Israel entered the Promised Land, the curses of the covenant would be proclaimed from Mount Ebal while the blessings came from Gerizim (Deuteronomy 27:13). Joshua built an altar on Ebal and carried out this ceremony (Joshua 8:30-35). It stands as a permanent reminder that covenant faithfulness matters.

The Choice That Changes Everything
Moses makes his case one more time before Israel crosses the Jordan. He reminds them what they saw with their own eyes, paints a picture of the land ahead, and lays out the clearest choice in the Bible — blessing or curse. No middle ground.

Back Where Everything Fell Apart
After a devastating failure at Ai, God sends Joshua back to try again — this time with a plan, a promise, and an ambush nobody sees coming. Israel wins their hardest victory yet, then does something unexpected: they stop to remember the God who gave it to them.
