A boundary marker on the eastern border of the tribe of Zebulun
GalileeNeah was a small boundary point on the eastern border of the tribe of Zebulun's inheritance in lower Galilee (Joshua 19:13). The border description traces from Sarid eastward to the border of Chislot-tabor and on to Daberath, then up to Japhia, then over to Gath-hepher, Eth-kazin, Rimmon, Neah, and Hannathon before ending in the Valley of Iphtahel. The cluster of small named points marks the line dividing Zebulun from Naphtali to the north and Issachar to the south — through the gentle hill country south of the Sea of Galilee that included Nazareth and the early childhood landscape of Jesus. The exact site of Neah is uncertain; some scholars connect it with the Hannathon-Hukok cluster between Mount Tabor and the Sea of Galilee.
