A boundary marker on the southern frontier of Naphtali in lower Galilee
GalileeHukkok was a boundary point on the southern frontier of Naphtali's tribal inheritance in lower Galilee, named in Joshua 19:34: "And then the coast turneth westward to Aznoth-tabor, and goeth out from thence to Hukkok, and reacheth to Zebulun on the south side." The town marked a key turning-point on the line dividing Naphtali from Zebulun and Issachar in the corridor commanding the routes from the Sea of Galilee to the Mediterranean. The site is generally identified with Yaquq about 8 km northwest of the Sea of Galilee.
