An inland region of Asia Minor that Paul passed through on his missionary journeys
Asia MinorHistorically Verified
A region in central Turkey. The ancient city of Gordion (of 'Gordian Knot' fame) has been dug up here, along with monuments from the legendary King Midas.
A large region in the interior of modern-day Turkey. Paul traveled through Phrygia on both his second and third missionary journeys (Acts 16:6, 18:23), strengthening the disciples. Phrygians were among those present at Pentecost (Acts 2:10). The cities of Colossae, Laodicea, and Hierapolis were in the Phrygian region.
Acts
The Night Everything Changed
Phrygia is one of the regions Paul passes through during this stretch of frustrated travel, moving through without being permitted to stop and preach.
Acts
The Tentmaker, the Trial, and the Teacher Who Almost Had It Right
Phrygia is the other inland region Paul passes through on his strengthening tour — quiet pastoral work among established communities that receives no headline but keeps the movement rooted.
