God's top messenger angel — delivered some of the most important announcements ever
open_in_newOne of two named angels in Scripture (along with Michael). He appeared to Daniel to explain visions, to Zechariah to announce John the Baptist's birth, and to Mary to announce Jesus' conception. When he shows up, it's a big deal. Gabriel Shows Up
Daniel 8:15-19Gabriel arrives here by divine command, called by a voice from the Ulai canal specifically to help Daniel understand the vision — his very presence causes Daniel to fall on his face in terror.
When Heaven Interrupts
Daniel 9:20-23Gabriel arrives here in swift flight while Daniel is still praying, dispatched from heaven at the very first word of Daniel's prayer to deliver insight and understanding to the man he calls 'greatly loved.'
