The river where Sisera's chariots were swept away and Elijah defeated the prophets of Baal
Jezreel ValleyHistorically Verified
The river is still there in the Jezreel Valley. Geological surveys confirm it floods seasonally — matching the account of Sisera's chariots getting swept away.
A river in the Jezreel Valley where two of Israel's most dramatic victories took place. Deborah and Barak defeated Sisera's 900 iron chariots here when the river flooded and swept them away (Judges 4-5). Later, Elijah brought the prophets of Baal down to the Kishon after his showdown on Mount Carmel and executed them there (1 Kings 18:40).
