The promised son finally arrives — Sarah is around 90 years old, and she names him Isaac, meaning 'he laughs.'
After decades of waiting, God delivers exactly what he promised. Sarah says God has brought her laughter, and everyone who hears about it will laugh with her. But the arrival of Isaac creates tension with Hagar and Ishmael, and Sarah demands they be sent away. God tells Abraham to listen to Sarah but promises to take care of Ishmael too.
