A Judahite settlement named in the Chroniclers genealogy of Judah linked to the Shelah linen-weaver clan
ShephelahCozeba was a Judahite settlement named only in the Chronicler's genealogy of Judah: "And Jokim, and the men of Chozeba, and Joash, and Saraph, who had the dominion in Moab, and Jashubi-lehem. And these are ancient things" (1 Chronicles 4:22). The catalog appears immediately after the list of Shelah's linen-weaver families at Beth-ashbea, suggesting Cozeba belonged to the same hereditary trade-guild network of Judahite craftsmen. The name is generally identified with the Chezib of Genesis 38:5 (where Shelah was born) and the Achzib of the Shephelah catalog (Joshua 15:44) — three closely related spellings for the same Shephelah site.
