The Galilean home of Eliahba the Shaalbonite, one of Davids Thirty mighty men
ShephelahShaalbon ("foxes") was the hometown of Eliahba the Shaalbonite, named in the catalog of David's Thirty mighty men (2 Samuel 23:32, 1 Chronicles 11:33). The town's full name was likely Shaalbim — the same Amorite-held lowland that the house of Joseph eventually subdued (Judges 1:35), giving Eliahba roots in the early conquest tradition. The site is identified with modern Selbit in the Aijalon Valley about three miles northwest of Beth-shemesh, on the western edge of the territory allotted to Dan.
